Deleting a video

We get many users asking how they can delete a video, so this article will give you more information on how Tubespace works. Please read the entire article.

All videos listed as public on your YouTube Channel will be pulled in to Tubespace

Every time you set a video to Public in YouTube, it will be pulled in to Tubespace automatically.

Tubespace automatically creates an Official Video Page for each video

When a new video is pulled in to Tubespace, the system automatically creates an Official Video Page. An OVP is a blog-like page that by default features the video and description from YouTube, but can be fully customized to your liking.

You cannot delete a video from Tubespace, but you can delete or temporarily hide its associated Official Video Page

You cannot delete a video from Tubespace because there is no need to. If you have deleted a video from YouTube, it will still be listed in the Tubespace editor, but its status will show as Not Active and it will no longer be visible or used on your site.

However, you will probably want to delete or hide the Official Video Page for that video as it will now have a "dead/broken" video on it. You can do so on the side menu by clicking Pages>Official Video Pages and then using the Visibility eyeball to set the page to not visible (aka unpublished).

Once this step is complete, there will be no trace of that video on your website.

If you re-activate that video in YouTube it will become active again in Tubespace

If you set a video back to Public in YouTube, the status in Tubespace will again change to Active and the video will be available/show on your site.

At this point, you may want to set the associated Official Video Page back to visible/published. You can do so on the side menu by clicking Pages>Official Video Pages and then using the Visibility eyeball to set the page to visible (aka published).
