Setting up a domain from Google Domains

Please note: your Google Domains interface may be slightly different, but the basics are the same! In a nutshell, you need to set the A Record and CName Record as described below!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Setting up your Google Domains domain with Tubespace is easy, however there are several steps.

It is important to perform the steps exactly as shown here:

1) Enter your custom domain in Tubespace

Enter your domain in Custom Domain Settings here:

https://admin.tubespace.io/settings/domainSettings (note: if you're here, you may have already done this)

2) Make changes in Google Domains

Log into your Google Domains account and find the link to My Domains, or click here: [https://domains.google.com/registrar/](https://domains.google.com/registrar/)

Find the domain you want to use with Tubespace and click Manage.

On the side menu, click DNS

undefined

Set CNAME Record

  1.  **IF** there is already a CNAME Record with your domain (**with** [www](http://www). in front) in the Host Name column, then use/edit this existing record by clicking Manage Custom Records and proceed to #3 in this list.
  2.  **IF** there is **not** already a CNAME Record with your domain (**with** [www](http://www). in front) in the Host Name column, click Manage Custom Records and then click Create New Record and choose CNAME as the Type, and continue:
  3.  On the CNAME line enter www in the Host Name field
  4.  Enter domains.tubespace.io in the Data field (enter exactly that, do not replace "domains" with your domain)
  5.  Set TTL to 3600
  6.  Click "Save"

You want your CNAME Record to look EXACTLY like this one:

undefined

**Important ! :** there can only be one CNAME Record _with "www" in the Host Name field_. If there are more than one, the extras must be deleted.

Set A-Record

  1.  **IF** there is already an "A" Record with your domain name (**_without_** a [www](http://www). before it) in the Host Name column, then use/edit this existing record by clicking Manage Custom Records and proceed to #3 in this list.
  2.  **IF** there is **not** already an A Record with your domain name (**_without_** a [www](http://www). before it) in the Host Name column, click the Create New Record button and choose CNAME as the Type, and continue:
  3.  Choose Type "A"
  4.  Leave Host Name field blank
  5.  Enter 18.189.85.40 in the Data field
  6.  Set TTL to 3600
  7.  Click "Save"

**Important ! :** there can only be one A Record _with "@" in the Host field_. If there are more than one, the extras must be deleted.

Your new records should look like this when you're done:

undefined

3) Check if you did everything correctly:

[Check Status Here](https://admin.tubespace.io/settings/domainSettings/)**

This is what the check status area looks like:

undefined

Domains are tricky and sometimes things may have changed at Google Domains since we wrote this article, but don't worry - we'll get this figured out together!

FIRST, go back and make sure ALL parts of these instructions were followed.

The most common mistakes are entering the CNAME and/or A-Record incorrectly. They must look identical to the examples in this article.

After double-checking you've followed these instructions, if things still aren't working, don't hesitate to use the chat bubble at the bottom-right of this page to ask for help.
